Proponent Initiatives
Affecting TASS

• Ml TATS-C Transformation 2 year POI to 1 year

• Pilot courses (96B, 96R, 97B, 97E) for
validation of TATS-C Transformation POI
beginning in OCT '02 at Region E (2/84‘^ TASS
(Ml) Battalion)

• Proponent standardization of all POI to
include use of TRADOC Commanders guidance
on non-resident training at TASS units (distance
learning, adult learning model, etc.)

Road Ahead for Ml TATS

1. Provide CADs to TRADOC to get the pilot courses entered into ATRRS.

2. Rewrite POIs using newly approved POI format.

3. Brief Proponent Leadership and POI committee chiefs, on content
and validity of proposed courses. Highlight analysis that led to
significant reduction in course hours and revisions to more adequately
train all critical tasks. Include timeline that shows completion schedule
for all training materials to meet the requirements of the pilots.

4. Decision brief to Intel Center Deputy Commander on new courses
designed specifically for RECLASS soldiers and the proposal to run the
pilots.

5. Obtain written concurrence from the NGB, USARC TASS Bns to
participate in the pilots.

6. Design and implement validation plan for subject matter content of
each pilot POI.

7. Design and implement evaluation plan for each of the pilot POI.
